Evaluation sheet for departing Fellows

  1. What would you consider to be the major benefits of your stay at IWM?

The major benefit for has been to be able to work under stable circumstances, to concentrate on my texts and research. The environment was very inspiring, the combination of working on my own research and meeting academics, learn about their work helped a lot. The circumstances were optimal.

  1. Was the event programme of the IWM attractive and interesting for you?

Yes, very much. I attended during my stay almost all of them.

  1. Do you have any criticisms of any aspect of the Institute’s program and operations?
Please include any suggestions for improvement.

I can’t name anything now, which I would want to change. An additional tutoring/mentoring also for journalists would be very useful.

  1. Are there any research institutions / potential applicants in your field or your country to whom we should send information on the Institute?
Please include the address or/and institution of these individuals:

Final Report sheet for departing Fellows

My stay at IWM was a great opportunity for me. It helped me to make a lot of progress in the work on my PhD.

The environment has been very helpful, everything that is needed, was provided: a quiet office, a library service, etc. This made my working process smooth and efficient. I planned to work here on the part of my dissertation which deals with journalism ethics. I was able to finish the research on this topic and a first draft of my text. My stay here gave me the possibility to deepen my knowledge of the journalistic profession.

I took part in several events of the Institute, seminars and lectures.

During my stay here I travelled to Budapest, to the Andrassy University, where I am a PhD Student and gave a presentation on documentary films.

On the 4th of March I gave a presentation on the Media Freedom in Hungary at the IWM.

I also wrote an article about the state of the Hungarian media landscape for IWM Post.

My stay here helped me with my academic work, but I gathered knowledge about different issues and came to know academics and fellow journalists from all over Europe and learned a lot by participating in the lectures and different other events. I also found very useful the opportunity to discuss with other fellows during lunch. My network broadened and I believe this will help me in my profession in the future.

I would like to express my gratitude towards the Institute and its staff for the wonderful three months I spent here.
